Choose from one of our pre-designed options: Quad 1, Quad 2 or Quad 2+. Once selected get ready to start designing your Second Space.

Site assessment.
The site assessment phase helps us understand what is achievable from a planning perspective and allows us to provide an accurate cost estimate on site works, connecting your Space to mains, delivery and install.

During this phase Second Space's town planning team will review your site and indicate if a planning permit is required.

Planning permits.
If a planning permit is required, we can guide you through the process or handle it completely.

Working drawings, engineering & building permits.
Includes all of the requirements for obtaining a building permit. Our engineer will design the footings and approve the construction drawings. A building designer will prepare the plans and all necessary reports. From there, a building surveyor is selected, and an accredited third party will provide an energy rating report

The design is then finalised and construction is ready to begin!

Note: Quad-1 is purposefully designed to not require building permits.

Once we receive your deposit, the raw materials will be ordered. Key structural materials will take 2 to 3 months to arrive. Upon arrival, the modular construction system will be assembled in a controlled factory environment, ensuring quality that surpasses traditional construction methods. We guarantee a high-performing space and this is validated with a blower door test.

During the build, you will be provided with frequent updates on progress. Our team is always available to answer any questions you may have.

By this point, any site preparation & permitting will have been taken care of.

The Second Space will be delivered to your property and installed, either with the help of the Second Space team or an external supplier.

This is the easy part. It’s now time to enjoy your Second Space.
